But it's an awkward thing here that I'm doing! To me at least.
Okay, let's get on with it. Here I am in this New Year (actually it has nothing to do with that but I feel I owe you some explanation), wanting to take more photographs like my eight year old self keeps reminding me. In past years, I’ve found myself drawn to the paths that feel less vulnerable since my photographic heyday as a bright-eyed munchkin. Showing a photo is looking through my eyes, without the filtering of spell-check or my new favorite, Grammerly (this isn’t an ad don’t worry). There’s no logic to a photo, rather a feeling that I find to be inexplicable and of the heart. And I prefer to live in the world of the easily editable explicables.
Alas, this is not a Substack for words, but rather for photos (with a sprinkling of words if you’re lucky). It is some measure of accountability to force myself to show you something from the heart on a regular basis—to be vulnerable! In this case, it means nine curated photos hot off the press (editing software), from the week past.
And so, here goes nothing. Cheers to the inexplicable!
